I could have wished for more details to the Cauld Ane world, but I guess it could be explained further as the series progresses. I was given that and enjoyed how the author gave it all an air of mystery from Sam's perspective. I wanted to see how things began and get the introduction to the Cauld Ane world. I went into this one after having read two others from later in the series and some of the parallel series with crossover characters so I was already in the know about the mystery surrounding Kade and the others.
